This page explains how a RecSoon Tx user (a registered therapist) can request deletion of their account and the personal data held by CareSutra Technologies Private Limited (“CareSutra”, “we”, “us”). It forms part of, and should be read alongside, our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
1. How to request deletion
You can request deletion of your account and data in either of the following ways:
- By email: send a request from your registered email address to dpo@caresutra-tech.com with the subject line “Delete my account”. Please include the registered email or mobile number on your account so we can verify your identity.
- In the app: open RecSoon Tx and go to Settings → Request Delete Account, which opens a pre-filled email request to the same address.
Verification. To protect health data, we verify that a deletion request genuinely comes from the account holder before we act on it. We may ask you to confirm details associated with your account.
2. What gets deleted
On confirmation of a verified request, we delete the personal data we hold about you as the account holder, including:
- your identity data (name, profile photograph);
- your authentication identity (Google sign-in association) and any device-stored credentials;
- your professional and contact details (discipline, registration number, mobile number);
- your approximate practice / registration location;
- your device identifiers and push-notification tokens; and
- your app-usage telemetry linked to your account.
3. What is retained, and why
RecSoon Tx is a clinical practice-management tool. Some data cannot be deleted immediately on request because it is subject to mandatory medical record-retention obligations, or is required for security and legal-audit purposes. Specifically:
| Data | Retention | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Patient clinical records (identifiable) — including any location recorded for a visit | 7 years from the date of the last session, then anonymised or deleted | Statutory medical record-retention obligation (Medical Council of India guidelines) that applies to you as the treating therapist. CareSutra holds these records as your data processor. |
| Consent & access audit logs | 5 years from the triggering event | Security and medicolegal compliance. |
| Crash and error logs | 90 days (auto-purged) | Application stability. Contains no patient health data. |
Where data is retained for these reasons, access to it through your account is removed. Retained clinical records are anonymised or deleted at the end of the statutory period. Full detail is set out in our Privacy Policy, section 17.8.
4. Patient data deletion (for patients)
If you are a patient whose records were created by a therapist using RecSoon Tx, the therapist is the controller (Data Fiduciary) of your records. Please direct deletion requests to your treating therapist in the first instance. You may also contact us at privacy@caresutra-tech.com and we will acknowledge within 48 hours and pass the request to the relevant therapist, subject to the retention obligations described in section 3 above.
5. Timeframe
We acknowledge deletion requests within 48 hours and complete deletion of all data not subject to mandatory retention within 30 days of verifying the request.
